Denver, Colorado

The Colorado Rockies, what a beautiful sight!

This is just one highlight from my trip and after 4 days in Denver I am finally home. This was my first out of state trip and first official rodeo as Miss Rodeo Oregon-I definitely had butterflies. Luckily my Mom, Lisa, came with me for my first trip- you never know what's going to happen so why not have an extra hand-camera-eyes-ears- and chauffeur!

Let's Rodeo!
While in Denver we participated in the National Western Stock Show and attended the Denver Market! The rodeo was spectacular, complete with laser light show, pyrotechnics and glow in the dark drill team! As visiting Royalty, myself and about 10 other Queens helped with the rodeo. From Muttin' Bustin' to running sponsor and event flags... they kept us busy. When we weren't busy running around at the rodeo you could find us at The Denver Market!

Oh, how I LOVE the Denver Market!
And before I go any further into telling you about how much I love the market I would like to thank Joanne and Camie at Desperado! These ladies invited me to come with them to The Market and purchase western wear and tack I would be using throughout my year. I am very lucky to have an opportunity like this-Camie and Joanne helped me pick out all the best things from all the top designers. From Manuel to Tres Outlaws! I was in Heaven!

I also ran into a couple friends from Canby Rodeo, Lyle and Janice Hendrickson who work with Cactus Saddlery. I would like to thank everyone at Cactus and especially Lyle and Janice for all of their help.

While at The Market I ran into a couple top Cowboys: Tuff Hedeman, World Champion Bull Rider (and good friend of Lane Frost) and Mr. Allen Bach, World Champion Team Roper (and one of my all time idols). I was SO excited to meet these Legends of Professional Rodeo, I can tell you that "star struck" is a big understatement.
After the Saturday night rodeo performance at the National Western Stock Show, Miss Rodeo Washington Nicole Ray, my Mom, and I headed to downtown Denver to The Wrangler Party! Wrangler did a fabulous job putting together such a grand event! From ice sculptures to live entertainment-it was an evening to remember.
It seems that coming home is always the best part of a trip. No matter what you do and how fun it is, or who you meet and how amazing they are... home always takes the gold.
Always keepin' it Cowgirl,
Jackie

January 2009

Happy New Year Oregon!

Finally My Year has started! WooHoo!

I can't even express how EXCITED I am to be Miss Rodeo Oregon, represent the PRCA and Oregon's Great Rodeos, while being apart of its History and Oregon's 150th Birthday this February! What an Honor! I guess the best way to describe it is: "This will be the best and most memorable year of my life!"

Just to start things off I want to thank everyone; Companies, Sponsors, Groups, Committees and Individuals, who have supported me this far and really have helped me get where I am today! It is with your help, encouragement, and support that I have made it this far. THANK YOU!

Gotta go rope!
Jackie
