Miss Rodeo Oregon Coronation

Whew! I have been running around like a crazy person! Busy, busy, busy collecting auction items, collecting sponsors, organizing, and planning. But in the rush of it all I planned the Party of the year!

Saturday January 31st, 2009 was a very special day for me. I was surrounded by 400 of my very close family, friends, rodeo boards, and sponsors.

I held my Coronation at the Clackamas County Fair and Event Center in the Main Pavilion. Special thanks to the Clackamas County Fair Board; Rayven Davis, Laurie Bothwell, Darrell Ricksger, Larry Hansen, and Crew! Our delicious food was provided by The Old Spaghetti Factory of Clackamas. A big thank you to my whole Spaghetti Factory Management, Kitchen Line, and Serving Crew! Morgan Distributing of Oregon City provided our bar with great beverages for the night, a very special thank you to Lindsay Morgan for being so helpful.

I can't help but mention my dear friend and auctioneer for the night, Alan Bryson of Newberg. He did a wonderful job raising funds, keeping the night rolling and entertaining with my Music Man- Drew Peterson. Drew is a fantastic vocalist and sang to my crowd all night long!
There were many things to do and see... from Silent Auction to Oral Auction & Miss Rodeo Oregon display table. All of the auction items were donated from local businesses and individuals; there are too many to count. There are a lot of very generous people that have helped and put their heart into this program.

The night just wouldn't have been complete without visiting royalty! There was a great turn out of local girls and courts, even royalty that wasn't local attended. Here is a picture of the whole Queen crew for the night! Thank you ladies for attending and for all of your time volunteering that night! Two local Rodeo Boards attended. The St. Paul Rodeo Board-The nations greatest 4th of July Rodeo and host of the Miss Rodeo Oregon Pageant. And my Favorite, because I am their girl, The Canby Rodeo Board and Members- thank you gentlemen for attending and for your help that night. Your rodeo is what made me fall in love with rodeo.

This night wouldn't have been possible without the help of my set-up, decorating, and auction item crews. A HUGE thank you to Katie & Jesse Nelson, Kristin & Mike Gibson, Kami and Brenda Smith, Joey Keys, Becca Thompson, Ashley Howe and Elizabeth Sloop, My Parents Mike and Lisa Gibson, Susan and David Rudberg and the whole Miss Rodeo Oregon Board. Without you this event wouldn't have become a reality.

Another Group that attended who are very special to my heart and community is the Clackamas Rotary. I was so happy to see Dr. Shirish Patel, Rick Rogaway and wife, and Joan Smith! Rotary taught me "Service above Self", this motto is carried with me day to day and I couldn't thank them enough for attending and for the life lessons learned.

I can't pick one favorite or memorable part of my night. Because the whole night from beginning to end was perfect. I couldn't have asked for more. To be surrounded by so many family and friends is truly a blessing and I am so honored to have all of that support. The rest of my blog will be of special moments or pictures from the night. Thank you just doesn't seem like its enough.
See you on the rodeo road. You are making my year memorable.
Happy Trails,
Jackie

Carol Neeley of High Call Studios, donated this print to my oral auction. She won the Western Art Show at the St. Paul Rodeo and her print will be the poster for the 2009 St. Paul Rodeo. Carol had a booth set up at my coronation, so we could all see her beautiful work and purchase any prints, postcards or paintings that night. Thank you to Mr. Bill Smith, this item auctioned off around 5 times.
Bob Roy is the official maker of the Miss Rodeo Oregon Saddle and Chaps. This picture was taken when Bob awarded me my chaps for the year. I was so excited to see my design in physical form! Bob will be constructing and tooling my parade serape and cuffs!
My Canby Girls! Clackamas County Fair and Canby Rodeo Court in their best! Whooo Wheee Lookin' good ladies! Thank you for your help before, during and after my night! See you at your Coronation March 21st at the Clackamas County Fair & Event Center!
The Clackamas County Crew working hard behind the Morgans Distributing Bar! Beer, wine, and pop for everyone! Thank you Laurie, Dave and Caroline what great bartenders you are!
Dad, Mom, Me, Miss Santiam Canyon Stampede Kami Smith, her Mother Brenda, and Father Carl. Thank you for your help on set up, tear down, and with those crazy auction items.

This is my biggest Thank you of all, to my parents for being my biggest sponsor of all. With love, advice, and the always helpful hand.

Love you!
